This recently restored 19th century mas is located just under 2 kms from the charming village of Le Paradou. The pretty garden, over an acre and a half in size, features a profusion of lavender and olive trees and boasts uninterrupted views of the Provencal countryside for which the Les Alpilles region is justly renowned.
For those that seek the beauty and peace of the area, yet want to be within easy reach of local shops and the vibrant town of St Remy-de-Provence, this mas matches that ideal perfectly. Once visited, it will be love at first sight.
The property is reached via a small country lane and a very attractive meandering driveway. The 14 x 6m pool has a decking surround and a pretty pool house with 2 WCs, wash basin and BBQ. To the back of the property there is a garage and ample outside parking space. To the front and poolside of the south facing house there are two large covered terraces for relaxing and dining.
The interior of the house has been decorated and furnished with charm and understated elegant style. Bare walls, wooden beams and wonderful stone floors are mixed with eye catching splashes of color.
Accommodation Details
Ground Floor: The spacious and comfortable sitting room features a large working "hanging basket" fireplace, book laden Provencal bookcase, large flat screen TV, DVD and Hi Fi system. The open plan kitchen and dining room has direct access to the poolside terrace and is equipped with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, gas range stove and espresso machine. Off the hall there is a separate WC. And access to the garage which has a washing machine.
The first bedroom to the rear of the house has a 180cm double bed (two twins) and en-suite upstairs bathroom with shower and basin. There are two other downstairs bedrooms, one south facing the other east, that share a bathroom with bath, two basins and separate WC. The beds in both rooms can be either 180 cm doubles or twins.
First Floor: At the top of the landing, there is a large south facing bedroom with 180cm bed (or two twins), walk in wardrobe, with en-suite bathroom with bath/shower, 2 basins and separate WC. Finally, there is a large south facing Master bedroom with French bed, en-suite bathroom with bath/shower, 2 basins and separate WC.
Staff: A weekly maid service of 12 hours is included in the price.

Les Alpilles: Les Alpilles are a small rocky range of hills in Provence, which stretch from the Rhone to the Durance rivers. The peaks of which are an imposing mix of bare limestone and scrub or garrigue, whilst the lower slopes and surrounding countryside are rich in olive groves, vineyards, cypress, pine, almond trees and sunflowers.
Above all else, what is particularly striking is the magical quality and luminescence of the light, which has been the inspiration of a host of painters, the most famous of which, being Vincent Van Gogh.
The region boasts some of Provence`s most famous tourist sites, such as the Roman ruins of Glanum, the medieval hilltop village of Les Baux-de-Provence and the stylish little town of Saint-Remy-de-Provence, which was the birthplace and home of Nostradamus.
Several pretty and typical Provencal villages encircle Les Alpilles; Maussane, Mouries, Fontvieille, Eygalieres, Le Paradou and Maillane. With stone built houses, clustered around Romanesque churches, open squares shaded by plane trees, fountains, charming cafes, restaurants and weekly markets -all have their own distinct character and charm.
Whilst further afield and yet all within easy striking distance, are, the papal walled town of Avignon, the Roman town of Arles, the spectacular Camargue, vibrant Aix-en-Provence and France's second city the port of Marseille, currently celebrating Europe's Capital of Culture
